More Success on Day 2 of Limassol Marathon 2018

On Sunday 18th March 2018, the Limassol Lizards put in another fantastic performance on Day 2 of the Limassol Marathon in the women’s 5km and 10km races with a superb 3 podium positions!

Giota Andreou, who trains children in the Lizards academy and also recently started the Lizards Adult running group, came 1st in the Women’s 10km, after a 2 year break from running, so we are immensely proud of her! Giota holds two national records for the U23s for the full and half marathon and was a Cyprus champion in the past.

Our younger athletes also had a fantastic day with Alicia Finnis coming 2nd in the women’s 5km, despite being only 13 years old! With a natural flair for endurance running, Alicia is only 30 seconds behind the current GSP champion who is 17 years old – so we are looking forward to a bright future for this Lizards star runner.

Our athlete Zara Meaby, who is also new to endurance running came 3rd in the women’s 5km, so we are very proud of her progressing to podium positions already.

We are very proud of our team performance over these last 2 days and of course our coaches and all the people behind the scenes who help us to do what we love – run!
