On Tuesday 3rd December, the Inter-School Cross Country Championship took place in Limassol at the regionals in Yermasoyia Village. Many of our athletes were selected by their schools to represent them in their teams.
There were some great performances and in particular we had the following results:
1st Secondary School Girls 1500m – Veronica Photiou
Foley’s School Team – 1st Place for Girls – Team Qualified to Nationals including our team members Annabel Rhodes & Nayia Papageorgiou
1st Secondary School Boys 1500m – Marios Andreou
3rd Secondary School Boys 1500m – Antonis Diamantakis
1st High School Girls 3km – Anna Makkoutide
3rd High School Girls 3km – Irene Christou
Athletic School Team – 1st for High School Girls Team Qualified for Nationals including our team members Anna Makkoutide & Irene Christou.
A special mention must go to Irene for running the last 300 metres with only 1 shoe, as she lost one of her trainers on the way but continued to win her place in the finals!
