On Wednesday 6th March 2019, Day 1 was held for the Gymnasium Schools race U16s Regional Finals at Lanitio School Stadium and Day 2 followed on Friday 8th March. There were many of our team members participating in this great day and we are delighted to have 5 of our athletes qualify for the National Finals later this year.
We had some great results including:
Veronika Photiou – 1st Place 600m
Annabel Rhodes – 3rd Place 300m
Irene Christou – 1st Place 1000m
Nola Meaby – 2nd Place 1000m
Sofia Yaskina – 3rd Place 150m
All five athletes have now qualified for the National finals and will compete again before Easter in the school National Finals with the other regional finalists. Well done to all who took part – we look forward to the next stages and we continue our training! Next week, we will be participating in the regionals for the more senior Lyceum school ages.
