The Lizards team really believes in contributing to local community and as runners, we also appreciate and understand how important it is to protect and look after our environment, not only for us to enjoy while we run outside, but also for future generations and for our own wellbeing. As part of this philosophy, we are pleased to announce our involvement in the upcoming Clean up of Erimi village, taking place on Sunday 16th May 2021.
Along with several other local organisations, we have set up a cleaning day where volunteers will come together to collect rubbish from key areas around the village, in an effort to improve the area and also to set the example for children.
We will start and finish at the Erimi Community Stadium parking area and the clean up will be from 9-11am.
All participants will be given disposable gloves, recycling bags and bin bags, maps of the area with recommended routes, team leaders will be coordinating and leading the groups and in order to respect the current COVID restrictions in place, the use of a mask and social distancing will be compulsory and groups will be of no more than 10 people.
Come along with your family to support our efforts and set a good example for all! Participation diplomas will be given to all children who take part.
