On 29th March 2022, several of our athletes participated in the national finals for the Senior Schools (Pagkyprious Lykeia), having already qualified at the regional level earlier this year.
It was a great day with some fantastic performances from several team members who have worked very hard this year and some of the results achieved included:
Antonis Diamantakis – 1st in 2km steeplechase
Alicia Finnis – 2nd in 3km
Irene Christou – 3rd in 2km steeplechase
Anna Aggeliki Zanettou – 2nd in 1500m
Veronica Photiou – 5th in 400m
Our winner Antonis Diamantakis is now participating in the Greece-Cyprus meet in Greece as a result of his win – we wish him every success!
On 12th April 2022, it was the turn of the Gymnasium athletes (Pagkyprious Gymnasia) who had qualified in the regionals in March to participate again in the national finals for schools at Tsirio stadium and we again had some great finishes for our team athletes representing their schools, including:
Lina Loizidou – 2nd 600m
Nayia Papageorgiou – 3rd 600m
Alex Rhodes – 5th 600m
Pam Schaapman – 3rd 300m
Irene Panayiotou – 8th 300m
The girls in the 4×100 relay also came 4th in the final overall.
